Launched by Higher Education minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, MoHE is the first ministry in Malaysia to own a news portal.

“Our main objective is to share success stories of students and educators who went through hardship and made multiple sacrifices to be at where they are now. Basically, whose stories which are hardly told, the unsung heroes of higher education,” he said.

He said HE Today also aimed at emphasising innovative initiatives by universities and community colleges in Malaysia in effort to transform the higher education system.
Idris presented the portal to more than 2,000 participants of MyHEF2017 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here today.
To date, HE Today has received encouraging responses, with the latest article which featured an effort of a local senior lecturer, Dr Othman Talib, to innovate postgraduate teaching in Malaysia received more than 4,500 views at press time.
The portal is expected to be the hub for the Ministry to gather and store achievements and inspiring stories of students, educators and universities of Malaysia.
